To provide multi-sectoral interventions for the development and empowerment of girls and women.
Achieve empowerment through enlightenment.
In many communities, girls and women face barriers that limit their education, safety, leadership, and economic independence. Yet every day, women and girls demonstrate resilience, strength, and determination to overcome these challenges. Empowering Women for Excellence Initiative (EWEI) was founded in April 2008 in response to this reality.
Our work is not just about programmes. It is about transforming lives.
Growing up in a community where girls are often not listened to or supported, the Learning Without Limits project changed my life.
I met a mentor who encouraged me to believe in myself and reminded me that as a girl, I can achieve anything. Today, my confidence is stronger, and I am pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse."

Many organisations have come to implement interventions in our community over the years, but one thing that stands out about EWEI is their consistency. Unlike others, they return to monitor the progress of beneficiaries and provide ongoing technical support. This level of commitment is truly commendable, and we deeply appreciate it.

The seminar on sexual harassment in public places opened my eyes to the importance of properly presenting and reporting cases through the right channels. I now understand that speaking up and reporting incidents to the appropriate authorities is critical when harassment occurs.

Self-care is essential for those of us working as stakeholders and service providers in ending violence against women and girls. This opportunity provided by EWEI to step away from our daily routines, reflect, and recharge was extremely valuable. It is an initiative I would strongly recommend to my ministry.
Through this programme, I am now informed about what Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) mean, and I understand my rights as a woman. Applying this knowledge in my life has positively transformed my relationship and interactions within my home.

By engaging men and boys as allies, the programme addressed root causes of violence and fostered safer, more supportive communities.
